A Card A Day In May -Day 8

Day 8 already! Today’s theme is “Get Well Soon” I couldn’t find a “get well soon” stamp that was current, so I did a little twist, but I love the way to card turned out. So that is always a plus!

The base of the card is Basic White Thick Card stock, followed by a layer of Flirty Flamingo and another layer of Basic White card stock. I know that Flirty Flamingo is not one of the coordinating colors listed on the 12 x12 ds paper, but I just didn’t like how Strawberry Slush looked with this paper and layout. Floral Impression designer series paper is a new release of the May on line exclusives. My outside strips are 1’ x 3 1/4” and the middle is 2 1/4” x 3 1/4” and then just a little strip of Basic White for the saying, stamping in Flirty Flamingo and the I brushed the edges with the Flirty Flamingo ink pad. The saying is from a new stamp set called, The Right Words and its in the annual catalog. Finally finished off with the Holographic Resin Dots and can’t forgot about the mini pop dots which are on the saying and the Flirty Flamingo layer attached to the Basic White Thick Card stock.

Supplies: The Right Words stamp set, Basic White Thick Card stock, Basic White & Flirty Flamingo card stock, Floral Impression 12×12 designer series paper, Flirty Flamingo ink, Holographic Resin Dots & Mini Pop Dots.

Today’s card was so much fun to create! I had an idea in my head and it actually turned out in a cute way!!! The theme for today’s card is “Kids” If you don’t know my children show pigs for open jackpot shows, 4-H & FFA, so when Piggy Party bundle was available as on online exclusive you bet I ordered it. Piggy Party bundle, item #165483, $38.50. You can shop here: https://www.stampinup.com/?demoid=2024389

The base of the card is Petal Pink then we have two pieces cut out of the textured notes dies, one is Misty Moonlight card stock and the other is Country Lace 12 x 12 designer series paper. The piggy is stamped with Black memento ink and onto Basic White card stock. I used blends on him, Petal Pink, light & dark, Misty Moonlight, light and a neutral brown. Stamped the saying and cut it out using the dies and then cut one out in Misty Moonlight and cut it in half and placed one on each of the ends.

A Card A Day In May – Day 6-

Today’s theme was a sketch card, it’s where you follow the sketch that is posted. For the record, I had my card done yesterday and posted to my Facebook/Instagram pages, I just didn’t write the blog post. We were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday last night! Fun times, the kids make sure his cake his cake had ALL 50 candles and lots of sprinkles!

For the sketch challenge, I know I wanted to use some of the new designer series paper and I picked the Turtle-Y Cute 12×12 designer series paper again, not the turtle side, the other side.

The base of the card is Balmy Blue and it has a strip of Petal Pink (1 3/4” x 4 3/4”, Cherry Cobbler piece (1’ x 4 1/2”) . The circle and square are from Stylish Shape dies, I didn’t use the largest ones, just the next size down. I stamped the Dino in Black Memento ink and I used blender pens and ink refill to color it in. I did use pop dots behind it on the circle. Finally I added some Petal Pink low profile dots and Wink of Stella.

Supplies: Darling Dinos stamp set, Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, Cherry Cobbler, Basic White card stock, Turtle-Y Awesome designer series paper, Black Memento ink pad, Blender Pen, ink pads – Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, Cherry Cobbler, Wink of Stella, Stylish Shape dies, Petal Pink Low Profile dots and pop dots.
