Mr. Twigster

I bought this stamp set when it first came out, because I thought he was the cutest snowman, but I am sad to say it hasn’t seen ink until now.  I need to make a few cards for a swap, but the catch was the card needed to have a different type of fold, meaning no regular 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" inch, aka the cards that I am the best at making.  I went over to scs and looked through the resources and came across a gate folded card.  The directions were easy peasy to follow and this is what I came up with ….. mr. twigster

The base of the card is Tangerine Tango, then I added Close to Cocoa and then Frosty designer series paper.  I had a hard time getting the layers to be 1/8", next time I will make them a little bigger.  I added the felt ribbon from the Alpine Originals ribbon collection.  I did apply two pop dots to the left side of the snowman and then added snail adhesive in between them to make sure the ribbon will stick.  Then I wrap the ribbon around the card and attached it to the card with a little more snail.  For the snowman, I stamped him in Basic Brown ink and used Bashful Blue SU marker and Tangerine Tango re inker along with a blender pen

Handmade Holiday Simply Sent Kit

Hello!

Long time no post, things got busy, then I was sick for a little while.  Today, I was off of work and I spent the day throwing out items in my craft room.  Needless to say, I still have lots of work to do.  I did manage to find time to create three cards from the Handmade Holiday Simply Sent kit.  This kit has everything you need to make 18 cards, 3 different style and 6 each of them.  I really need to read the directions first, I made a mistake when I went to cut the designer series paper.  I cut the paper at 5 1/4" instead of 5 1/2", it took me 12 cuts before I read the directions.  Oh well, here is my take on these super cute cards.

handmade holiday kit

I did add Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon to all of cards, this is not included in the kit.  Neither is To You & Yours stamp set, pop dots, envelopes or inks.  The kit contains the card stock, designer series paper, stickers and the directions to make the cards the way they look in the catalog.  It is always fun to have things pre-planned and then you can follow along or do your own thing.

Here are the cards individually, everyone of the sticker accents have pop dots behind them.  I did use the Ruby Red & Mellow Moss ink pads.  For the house card, I used the little sayings that were included in the sticker, they too are added with pop dots.

I believe that these kits are a wonderful value, the cost of the kit is $17.95 for 18 cards.  You would need to purchase envelopes and you really don’t need the stamp set that matches, but it always helps!
