Sketch Frenzy Friday 7-23-10
Another week has flew by and it brings me to Sketch Frenzy Friday!!!! Here was our sketch for this week:

Nice and simple!!! Just the way I like them, when I am in a hurry and not feeling well. Here is what I created with a little help from the color coach and the Big Shot!!
.jpg)
I started with the Color Coach and picked out the colors and then I thought of using butterflies, so it was down to the Big Shot. The base of the card is Wild Wasabi followed by a layer of So Saffron card stock and then a piece of So Saffron designer series paper from Subtles Pattern Designers Series Paper Pack. I ran a piece of Perfect Plum card stock through the Big Shot using the Beautiful Wings embosslit die. I attached them to the card with tombow glue. On the larger butterfly, I did use pop dots underneath the wing to make it stand up. I stamped the saying in Perfect Plum ink, the saying is from the level 3 hostess set, Occasional Quotes. I tied the ribbon around the inside of the card and made a bow. Finally I spritzed the card with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. It just so very hard to see on the picture. Of course I had to make a matching envelope, I used a few of the leftover butterflies and glued them to the envelope and stamped the saying.
Supplies:
- Occasional Quotes stamp set
- Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Perfect Plum and Whisper White card stock
- Perfect Plum ink pad
- Subtles Pattern Designer Series Paper Pack
- Big Shot and Beautiful Wings embosslit die
- Whisper White taffeta ribbon
- Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
- pop dots

Greeting Card Kids…..

When I saw the Greeting Card Kids stamp set in the catalog, I had to have it. Those kids are just so darn cute!! There are lots of little steps, but I love the way it turned out.
The base of the card is Melon Mambo followed by Basic Gray. Then I ran a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock, through the Big Shot, using Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Then I sponged Melon Mambo ink on top of the embossing. I punched out the strip using the scallop trim border punch and wrapped a piece of Victoria 5/8" crochet trim around that. For the little girl, I stamped her in Basic Black ink onto Very Vanilla card stock. Then I made a mask of her and applied to the top. I sprayed it with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and after that dried I sponged the edges with Melon Mambo ink. Using SU Markers I colored the image in. Added the Melon Mambo and Basic Gray card stock layers and then pop dots to the back.
Supplies:
- Greeting Card Kids stamp set
- Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla card stock
- Basic Black and Melon Mambo ink pad
- SU Markers ~ Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede and Blush Blossom
- Big Shot and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder
- Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim, pop dots, sponge
- Scallop Trim border punch
- Silver Foil Smooch Spritz

Here is this week's Technostamper's Sketch Challenge:

Great sketch MJ!! Here is what I came up with:
.jpg)
I had too many ideas going through my head, so I had the SU Idea Book in one hand and the color coach in the other. I started going through the color coach, until I found a color combination and then I went to the catalog and found a stamp set to use. The process works for me when I really don't a good starting point, I love using these two tools.
The base of the card is Wild Wasabi and then a strip of Garden Green. It's really hard to see on the picture, but I used the word script from the Charming stamp set and stamped the Garden Green card stock with the words using, Wild Wasabi ink. It looks really good in person, just not on the picture. I used the Big Shot and ran a piece of Marina Mist card stock through using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Then I tied a piece of Early Espresso 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the inside of the card. For the flowers, I used the SU markers, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist. Just color in the images and then give it a little huff and stamp onto Whisper White card stock. Finally I added a little Early Espresso card stock followed by pop dots.
Supplies:
- Charming stamp set
- Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Whisper White card stock
- Wild Wasabi ink pad
- SU Markers ~ Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist
- Big Shot and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder
- Early Espresso 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and pop dots

Sketch Frenzy Friday
This week it was my turn to create the sketch! Here is what I came up with, thanks to using My Digital Studio by SU.

This is the first time that I have created a sketch, hopefully in the future it will get easier. This is the card that I created:

The base of the card is Concord Crush, one of the new in-colors, followed by a layer of Daffodil Delight. Using the Big Shot and the Top Note die, I cut two out using Whisper White and Concord Crush card stock. The flower is from the level 2 hostess set called, Fast and Fabulous. I took my SU markers and colored the image with Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush and then on the solid image, I used the Concord Crush marker, but I stamped off two times before I stamped onto the Whisper White card stock. I wanted just a little color, not too much. For the ribbon, I used 5/8" Whisper White satin ribbon and glue dots. I added a strip of glue dots to the back of the ribbon and just started gathering as I went. Finally I stamped the saying, which is from Full of Life stamp set.
Supplies:
- Fast and Fabulous and Full of Life stamp sets
- Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White card stock
- Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz SU markers
- 5/8" Whisper White satin ribbon and pop dots
- Big Shot and Top Note die
I hope that you will continue on the sketch frenzy journey, the next stop is Connie's site.
