A tisket, a tasket, a spring basket

I enjoy being off of work, I am actually getting some stamping done.  I made a basket similar to this one, last fall at my up line meetings.  Karen Titus comes up with some great ideas, so I changed the colors and added a little more to mine design.

spring basket with cardsHere is the basket with the cards inside of it.  The cards are 3 inches x 3 inches in size.  I was thinking that they would be perfect for using on Easter baskets or something.

I started out with the Big Shot and the scallop envelope die.  You will need to cut four envelopes out of your card stock.  I did get the four out of one sheet of paper, you don’t need all the tabs on each envelope.  The I applied the Tea Party designer series paper to each envelope and the I attached the tabs to each other and made one long strip.

For the handle, I cut a slit into the folded down edge and inserted the handle and added a Jumbo Whisper White brad to each side.  After this step is when I glued down all the flaps to the designer series paper and attached the tabs together to make a box.

Here are the cards that are in the inside: eight great greetings mini cards

I used Eight Great Greetings stamp set, stamped  the images in Basic Black and then used my SU markers and colored them in.  I carefully trimmed them out and applied two pop dots to back.  For the card themselves, they are 3" x 6" and folded in half, I added the Tea Party designer series paper and a thin strip of Pretty in Pink card stock to the middle.  The whisper white taffeta ribbon is added to the top and then you are done.

Supplies:

  • Eight Great Greetings stamp set
  • Pretty in Pink & Whisper White card stock
  • Tea Party designer series paper
  • Basic Black ink pad
  • SU Markers, Whisper White Taffeta ribbon, 5/8" Jumbo Whisper White brads, pop dots
  • Big Shot machine, scallop envelope die cut

If I have confused you with the instructions, please send me an email and I will try to help you out.  They are acutally really simple to create.  There are so many things I can think to put inside the little basket.  Next time, I will use my scallop border punch on each side of the handle.  Here is the side view with jumbo brad…
